Cluster's data are not only analyzed by scientists and for science. They also inspire musical work. Professor Lucile Turc, associated with the research group Space Physics at the University of Helsinki, combines her role as a scientist with that of composer and performing musician: She composes and sings the Ballad for Cosmic Quartet. Four satellites, four voices: each of the four voices she sings represents one of the four Cluster satellites and the piece of music illustrates the scientific methods used to analyze the data from space.
