Janine Reding-Piette (1920, Brussels – 2015, Monaco) was a Belgian pianist and pedagogue, the last pupil of pianist Arthur De Greef and granddaughter of Guillaume Guidé, a renowned oboist and director of La Monnaie. After studying piano at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel between 1939-1943, she married her fellow student Henry Piette. As a duo for two pianos, they gained international fame from 1946. Important milestones in their careers were the first Belgian performance of Benjamin Britten's Scottish Ballad and Igor Stravinsky's Sonata for Two Pianos.
The Janine Reding-Piette Fund was established in 1987 at KBR and was completed after the death of its donor. It includes documents relating not only to the musical career of Janine Reding-Piette but also to that of her grandfather, Guillaume Guidé. These include the notebook that belonged to his mother Yvonne Guidé, which collects autograph sheets by Debussy, Fauré, Massenet, Puccini and Strauss.
